I had bought a manix 2 off amazon for $86 shipped and now I'm considering returning it. On amazon it was advertised with a 154cm blade and I received s30v. I guess there's nothing wrong with the Knife rather the seller but I'm still very disappointed. I didn't even know they made them in s30 so at first I thought It was either a sprint run or a fake. I have nothing against s30v I love it i was just looking forward to trying out 154cm. :( So guys what should I do? keep it or return it?

This is like buying a Toyota and getting a BMW and getting pissed lol

Amazon often gets the steel description wrong. The last time I complained they gave me a discount on the knife. They've never argued with me on a return, either, and since an inaccurate description is their fault they'll pay for the shipping, too.
Or just keep the knife, it is one of my favorites and Spyderco does a better than average job with S30V.

S30v is an overall better steel than 154cm. They probably hadn't updated the listing from before when Spyderco upgraded. You have no reason to be disappointed...just use the knife, chances that you would ever even notice the difference if the blade steel wasn't stamped on is slim to none.

Just keep it S30V holds an edge better anyway. You'll probably have a hard time finding one with 154CM steel unless you find someone here on the forum that has one for sale. It's an amazing knife just enjoy it and don't worry so much about steel.

I'm very happy with my S30v Manix 2!!! Excellent blade steel, and the darned thing is made to take a beating! This knife will last me a lifetime...

I know someone who recently sold a $200+ Emerson to 'downgrade' to the $90.00 Manix 2 he replaced it with (after handling mine). He's now a Spyderco convert. Favors his Manix 2 far above the Emerson he sold.

Value. Value. Value. From my experience, nobody delivers more knife for the price than Spyderco. The Manix 2 screams value!

i did the same thing lol.

i just sold it off after trying it out. i like s30v, but i wouldnt have bought it if i knew it wasnt 154cm. honestly just keep it. the only things 154 has over s30v is the lateral flexibility because of the larger grains in the steel. but it wont get as sharp, or stay as sharp. and i bet you break the manix handle if you apply too much pry type forced on it before the s30v breaks.

i would keep it

I have a few of each and they are all great. I just wish it had a benchmade axis lock in it instead. Then it would be the perfect knife for most occasions :)

Spyderco nailed it with their S30V. Very good stuff! I'd definitely keep it. You got an unexpected upgrade. At least that's the way I see it...

Not for nothing but did you read the reviews....the older the models are 154 the newer ones are 30v.
Also in the veiws people that bought them recently all got the 30v. Amazon is the best they will take care of ya if you are not happy.I just picked up my manix2xl from them and its perfect.

I love my 154, but want a s30v also. You lucked out man! If anything you should be upset with Amazon for not changing the description.

As far as being dissapointed, the Manix 2 is my favorite folder in any flavor. They are solid, great platforms and performers. Give it some love man, and it'll treat you right. Also, please post a pic or two, I want to see the new ones. Are there still full liners, or are they milled?

Thats weird, my coworker bought one on ebay thinking he was getting the s30 but got the 154. He got screwed.

The exact same thing happened to me when I ordered my Manix 2. I can't tell you how pleased I was to find out that I got the S30V version instead of the 154CM! Why would you ever be upset with that? You should be happy.

Let us know if the grind is symmetrical between both sides of the knife.. And as stated s30v= good, Not the there is anything wrong with 154cm..
