I could see why someone might prefer 154cm over S30V, it's easier to sharpen, and holds a better razor edge, though S30V will hold a better working edge. I like both though, but i could see why someone would prefer one over the other.
I've seen posts here the past couple of months that were elated that they received the S30v version. How's this for a change? Personally, I much prefer S30v also.
Dude stop whining about the grind. you brought back a 2 year old thread already, and others discussed this with you. It's an 80 dollar knife, they are hand made, it doesn't affect the use of the knife.
I think op is just bragging that he got a manix with better steel. Jk. Lol. Find the thread about audiguy having his life saved by a manix. I think the thread was from 2010. Spyderco should hook him up for such an awesome endorsement. I'm thinking about getting one now because of his post, even though I don't need another knife... let's be real. We all need another knife I'm coming to find out.
That's a funny complaint. S30V is a substantial upgrade from 154CM... you're having quite the opposite reaction! (Although maybe someone should get the dealer to update their listing)
Keep it if you like the knife itself, and return if you don't. I would not worry about the difference in steel: unless you have got already this knife in s30v and was buying it for the steel.
I'm keeping it. I just like playing with different steels and never had 154. right not I'm trying to decide if I should sand the area under the pocket clip. I could get my pm2 out pretty quick for a folder but the g10 on the manix is pretty aggressive.
