Dissappointed with my Custom Shop 110

I would send it back to Buck and let them make it right.
Trust me, it will be worth the wait.
Otherwise it's just going to bug you forever.

My Custom Shoppe 110 was flawless, as it should be.

OC,
You paid a premium for the knife and its quality should reflect that, period. If you had paid for a "project" that would be one thing. Please send it to me so I can make it right. I also want to get you that one armed bandit and the sheath you want.
If you put my name on the outside of the box, in BIG BOLD letters, I will turn it around in a couple days, I am sure you waited long enough already. Please write a note outlining everthing that needs to be done. Sorry for the hassle of this but I hope you will give us a shot at making it right.

:jerkit: Will someone educate me a bit? What is a "one armed bandit". I am familiar with the Las Vegas kind but I dont think that is what is meant here. Thanks!

it is a small device that ataches to the back of the balde clost to the pivot
it projects out enught to catch with your thumb and push the blade open and locked
refered to as one armed bandet as persons like my brother who only have good use of one arm can open the knife with one arm ... i realu dont know were the bandit come from unless it is were a bandit has a sack for stuff and opens a knife with one arm being used ... who knows
many atach with a allen grench...

Dave, had a hunch that was what meant but wanted to be sure. thanks!
Also took some looks at your herd on photobucket. I see you like the etched blades too! Nice collection and makes me feel relieved that someone has spent MORE $$ than me! Ha!

If you send it back to Buck I am sure that they will make it right, they are good people.
yes they are, only haveing a tad of trouble some times...
takes a while some times to fix things
i would send it in my self,
however it is his buzz if he wants to or not,
every one has their reason and
he has his i am sure....

yes i like the etch a lot along with the Damascus and
i am almost a nut on the cut outs ...
glad you like them
i am bulding display cases out of
chestnut wood from a log home that dates from before
1752 ... was located on a survey by G. Washington...
and have plans on being in the alanta show ...
looks like i may have 112- 110's
i have not counted them belive it or not
times i have gotten hold of a buck employee
(present or former dont matter to me!
and buy what ever they will sell to me ...
kind of a
" why yes sir, i would like two cut of that there and 4 cuts of that other one
so that makes 5 pounds of prime buck... right...?" :D

Dave, funny you should mention display cases. I just got home to find a new display case I ordered from a certain vendor. What a piece of crap!:barf: I am sending it back immediately and asking for full refund. Since I am not a woodworker by any stretch of the imagination I am looking for something nice but not to expensive. Whats that chestnut go for by the linear foot? ;)
Maybe you might work something up for me??:D :D

You have a swell collection for sure!!!

I received an email on Tuesday that mine 110s were shipping. I've got a couple of BG42s on the way....I'm looking forward to their arrival (expected them early next week since I'm on the east coast).

I hope they are right...somehow I think they will be.

:)

Joe,
Thanks for the offer to make it right. I knew you would. However, I no longer want it since it's going to be a sore point for me everytime I use it. I've accepted a deal to trade it off so it will be gone soon.

Thanks.

okbohn,
Sadly, I don't think I will try again. Getting ready to move and then deploy. I just don't have time now for things to not be right the first time.

I may buy more Bucks in the future but only if I can inspect them first. I've seen several Limited Editions lately that I was surprised were allowed to ship. This was my first custom shop order with them, if it would have been my 5th or 6th and I had an issue it would have been different. First impressions tend to stick a long time with me.

Very key point that I have mentioned around here before.
It's cliche, but so true as you prove here OC...you never get a second chance to make a first impression.

And that first impression, for business, either means more revenue or the loss of revenue. And when it is a loss, it extends beyond just you not ordering OC. Others that read what happened to you and with my 889LE will not order (http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4415869&postcount=46). And that is something that you can bet a dollar is true although it can't be quantified. Money lost, and maybe someday, a company lost.

When you do good, no one remembers. When you do bad, no one forgets.

I don't care about my bad reputation but Buck better buck up and do something about their final QA. Too many factual stories lately.

he will be happy with the buck he is getting
i am sure he will order another custom buck some time

at buck :the shop is still new
the shop people are new
and in a new buck factory!
in effect almost the whole company is new
it takes time in working things out
they are investing a lot of training in people
some of them after being trained jest leave
all that training and investment in personal gone ....
and who know what they did or did not do jest before they left
so i dont wander that there are a few that dont live up

here we are a batch of knife nuts
each with our own idear of what is good and what is not
there what one dont like another dont understand what is wrong- yet
these workers have not grown to be knife nuts- yet..
i think there people will grow or go ...
so cut them a break here at least
email joe and let him know
i know joe sweats every one that he hears of.

I haven't been around a lot lately, but did notice that the knife in question has a BEE GEE 42 blade.

Are they available again in the custom shop?
