Distressing antler??

Howdy,
Anyone know of anything I can use to maybe eat away a little of the outer surface of antler and bone and allow it to take up a little dye during stabilizing. I figure some kind of acid, but not sure which.

Next time you come over give it to Jaguar for a deep etch, Viper for a medium and Ferrari for a light one. HEHEHEHEHEHE!!!

Propane torch.

Give it a quick go over with a torch, then run a wire wheel over the surface. It will be a lot browner, and will accept stain better. You can just torch brown it and buff it,too.
