Distrorted perception !

Just yesterday a Major looked at the BAS hanging on my belt and asked, "why are you wearing a sword?". Imagine if I'd been packing a 20" Sirupati!! !! He's not the only one who's gone googly eyed over my "field knife", so I've taken to packing it in my CamelBak "Hawg" around camp. The "Hawg" is a beautiful piece of gear,I stuff it with my khukri, spare rifle magazines, MRE, etc..
It has a waist belt and chest strap, so when it's all buckled up you can virtually do somersaults and it'll stay put.
Back to that Major for a minute. It occurs to me that to non-knife people, a big knife seems awkward and clumsy. I guess to them it is, but we know better don't we?;)

Clumsy is not the way I would explain any Khukuri but it's amazing how some people just don't like knives. I show people my khuks with love in my eyes and they don't get it. They say thats nice or something stupid. I've even been told I am a potential phsycho but we all know different (HIKV !!) he he :D

I get this pic in my head of you and some chaps sitting around the grounds at Canterbury:

Buddy: So, What's for tea?
Brendan: Scones, and this Nepalese butter knife.
Buddy: Bloody 'ell! Wot's that?
Brendan: A Khukuri! Spiffy, Eh!
Buddy: You're a loony!!?! Wavin that think around like yer soddin' Arthur? You get us nipped fer sure!

Heehee.

Cheers, Brendan! Drink a real pint for me.
