I just looked over the rancherman thread, and when I saw this, I had to make a comment -
it is just that i had noticed the knifeforums.com was so much nicer, everybody was polite, nice, not mean or rude where as bladeforums.com has some very rude people on it.
I find it suprising that someone who would
- Troll Chris Reeve Knives about customer service in their own forum
- Would openly flame other members
- Lie about their identity
- Claim that their "father" made the posts, that were causing problems
- Register with multiple profiles (4+) to cause mischief
- Openly admits that he was wrong to start flaming and causing trouble
- Threaten a "harrassment" and "discrimination lawsuit" when banned from the forums
- Made all sorts of outlandish claims about how his family has been threatened and his life is in danger from the Klan
... would be so quick to say that the people
here are rude.
The young Mr. Atwood seems to be paying a lot of lip service to "trying to be a mature adult", but actions speak louder than words.
I told him in a previous email that if he wants to come back onto the forums, he should have his father contact us on our 800 number. Thus far, there's been no calls. Considering his proclivity for using fake identities and multiple email addresses, I'm less than trusting of any email from his "father".
This is a copy of the last email I sent him...
There is an old saying - fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Morgan, your behavior was inexcusable. There shouldn't have been a first time, much less a second, or third. BladeForums.com is a place for adult level discussion - not a place for you to have your kicks screwing around with people.
Our site is geared towards adults, with adult level discussion. Have your father call me at 1.800.969.7771 and we'll discuss this further.
You will not be allowed on for at least one month, most likely longer. I've already wasted enough time dealing with you and your actions, and I'm not eager to open the door so that you can act this way again.
Have a nice day.
In short, I'm pretty reluctant to let him back.
If he's upset about the reputation he's
earned and the treatment he's gotten from some of the people he's interacted with, then the responsibility lies with him. You get out of it what you put into it. But blaming us for the consequences of his actions is, IMHO, pretty funny.
