Ditch Kit: Bug Out Belt

Looks good.
I would keep the 50 ft of paracord. I personnal carry about 150ft but 50 is fine. Make sure it is the milspec with the seven strand core. You can use the strands for a variety of things includeing sewing thread.
I would keep the canteen cup and stand. Also stay with the plastic canteen. I had an aluminium one about 15 years ago and it was a leaky piece of junk.
The quick clot or similuar product requires training to use correctly. Not a bad idea to carry I would make sure you know how to use it first.
I have to second Austin on the space banket. Those then mylar things are absolute garbage. The heavy doublesided ones that are orange/red and silver are may more durable and functional. The only downside is that the collect condisation. So does the highway bag. Still it beats having nothing. Have you tried using the ponch for a shelter? I used mine on a training exercise a few months ago and discouvered that what worked 15 years ago was way to small and did not work.
I noticed you have three mag/fire steals. I would trim that down a little. Also the box of strike anywhere matches sould be in a waterproof container. Even better would be to ditch the strike anywheres from both parts of the kit and get some REI storm matches. Also cotton balls soaked in PJ and in a container such as a match container or film canister makes great tinder.
Instead of electrical tape I suggest something like duct or gorilla tape. Wrap some around another peice of gear so it does not take up so much room. The only other thing I would suggest is an LED light. No spare bulbs to worry about and longer battery life. The make conversion kits for the AA mini-mags

You can take one of those fake plastic credit card that you get in the mail and wrap several feet of duct tape around it. I also think that REI storm matches or nato matches are better. As for PJ cottonballs in a film canister, this is a must. Or you can make fire straws if you want to save a little space.

Count me in as a fan of the REI matches as well. For those that have never seen them, they are about 2 3/4 times longer than a regular match and the head takes up at least half of the match. They are also impossible to blow out which is very nice. If you have the standard orange waterproof match container the REI matches will be a tad bit too long to fit in there, but a quick clip with some pruning shears easily gets them down to size. You get 50 matches for $4.15.

In regard to the "military" look of your kit, you might want to checkout The North Face Mountain Bike Lumbar waist pack. Its a great utility pack, loaded with useful features wears comfortably and won't get you a second look, even in town.

Hi jca21,
Nice job on the jedi belt.
a few thoughts:
-speaking of making a situation more comfortable and more livable, a packet of Immodium a-d tabs could go a long way for comfort when your cramping every 6 minutes or so from dysentary/e-coli/basic intestinal virus, 72 hours can be an awfully long time. Maybe a few pepto-bismal chewables too...
...and a small plastic bottle(like a sample size) of nyquil can knock you out when you really need sleep and have a bad cough at altitude.

-I've personally always carried some styptik powder and a small syringe applicator of Dr. Golds Super Clot blood coagulant for pets,(dog groomers use it for bleeding nails, cutting tails and for minor bleeding in equine care),both run about $6 bucks for.5 oz at many pet stores, heck i've even powdered a styptik pencil from my shaving kit to treat medium lacerations, way before the trauma packs of clotting agents became readily available. I don't personally know if they are the same agents used in the big trauma packs marketed for use on humans, but I know they have worked well for my clumsy ass in the wildy.

-I unroll my space blankets and put a big "x" of duct or gorilla tape in the center incase I need to cut a head hole for use as a poncho, I've also taped all along the edges for use as a bivy, it adds some bulk to foldability, yet often stops it from shredding itself...

Be Well and Stay Aware on the trail,
Mark

i guess i could use my expandable baton as a light saber :D

i'm in the process of replacing the mylar space blanket with a AMK heatsheet blanket.
