Some of you may have seen my WTB add for a NIB Microtech Scarab.
I came across a Scarab on Gunbroker item#287710223, listed as Factory New.
I made an offer to the seller Dixie Ammo Dump and I dealt directly with the manager Wade Carter.
I purchased it last week and received it on Friday May 25.
Upon receiving the knife I discovered visible marks of wear on the entire knife.
The blade was rusty/dirty on both edges from where it had been used.
The actuating button was missing paint on all four corners.
The pocket clip was missing paint, there was a scratch on the blade and the actuation button's groves were filthy from prolonged carry and use.
I immediately contacted Dixie Ammo Dump and spoke with Wade Carter and told him how dissapointed I was that they he had been dishonest.
He tried to beat brows with me and say that Microtechs come that way from the factory. I own many Microtechs and none of them, not even my EDC's have that amount of wear on them. After some words and a strong email I was given a refund.
Guess what, I go on Gunbroker today May 31 and the same Scarab is listed for the same price as "USED" item # 288690359.
What kind of unethical people, to make matters worse they have a great feedback score on GB, I wonder how many other unknowing customers have purchased items from them that were not in the described condition.
You can still view the previous listing on Gunbroker item # 287710223 The condition lists FACTORY NEW.
