The best balisong I had when I was younger was a Dixie marked balisong. I don't know if this came from Dixie knife works or was a short lived brand, but this knife went twice the distance of any other knife I have owned. I threw, dropped, and banged up this knife for years and the pins never loosened and it always looked brand new. If anyone knows anything about these knives, let me know. I have been looking for a replacement for many years. (I lost the knife by the way, It never broke!!)

I have just found a link to a site that has the knife check it out!!

there was an individual who shared the same sentiments as you in the old Balisong FOrum in Clay's site. But he got two eventually off ebay (sorry sir forgot names easily). This Balisong being in this webpage really makes me wonder about the quality but I am really curious.. how does it stand up to a Jaguar surgical?

Thanks for the post!

I just recently came across some of the original Dixie knife works butterflys. To my knowledge their no longer made so I wonder if the ones on this site are a just found store or a new copy version.
The ones I have come in a colorful box with a confederate flag on it. As far as quality they remind me of the Parker gypsy-only without the nice inking on the blade-so they should be pretty durable.

Since my first post I hopped over to Ebay and it appears that someone was selling one there but the Ebay police stopped the auction.
