DIY Electro etcher under $20

Ok, that being the case then the 16V transformer is producing .625A of power. Wonder why they didn't just list the rating in amps or wattage...volt amps is not an electrical term I'm used to.

VA is used a lot for AC. I just think watts when I read it because the number is similar. You shouldn't have any problem using that size transformer for your etcher. I just got done building 10 etchers, and my neck really hurts from looking at the small wires. With <1 amp, any size wire should work fine for you.

Hi, I'm a jewelry artist who has recently been looking into salt water electro etching for copper, brass, aluminum, steel ans silver. I watched the etcher video on your website and it looks easy to use. I'd love to build something like this but my husband thinks I will injure myself, so my only way to get it might be to buy yours. I have a couple questions (I apologize in advance if they are stupid) 1) will this work for salt water submersion etching on a larger surface (say up to 2.5 inches by 7inches?) 2) would you hold the button down to etch in the saltwater vs the tapping shown in the video?

I would have emailed but I couldn' t find contact info. Also if you might consider a discount or something in return for some social media marketing (I know a few jewelry artists who would be very interested in your etcher) please feel free to contact me privately. Either way, I look forward to your information and hope I can add an etcher to my tool arsenal. Thanks!

You mean like this:

Put a rubber band around the unit to hold the button down. It's the easiest way without using a much more expensive switch.
