DIY Micarta?

Sorry in advance if this is the wrong section to post this in.
I want to make some micarta, and I remember reading about it somewhere on the internet. Could someone give me a link or instructions on how to make it? The kind I read about and the kind I'm interested in is canvas micarta from jeans.

I used this tutorial to "recycle" my old jeans. Make sure you have everything ready before you start - fiberglass resin heats up and hardens pretty fast. The first time I tried it I end up with just 10 strips put together and a jar of hot hardened resin.
