hey guys.
i wasreading through some old posts and in one of them, 2 seperate makers mentioned that they made their own tang stamps. does anyone know how to do this?
brett?

Heck, I'll give this one a free bump cause I want to know the exact same thing.
I know, I know, it's only $30 or $40 to have one made. But 1) that's 3/5 or 4/5 of the monthly fun money some of us allow ourselves and 2) it's that same old trash-into-treasure thing. Making something from nothing, you know?

So I'm interested in the answer too.

MsCantrell where did you get one for 30-40.My last one was near 100 and I need a new one.

McAhron,

Well, I've not gotten around to getting one myself. I was asking about it, and the answer I got was that having a stamp made costs about $30 or $40.

I'm going to see those guys again tomorrow, so I'll ask.

Mike

You can take a piece of round or square stock draw what you want on the end and file away evrything else. Harden it and temper back to a dark straw color.
