DMT Sharpening stones for a noob?

What do you mean by "standard Naniwa stones"? Naniwa is a brand, like Honda or GM. Like car companies they make a wide array of stones, ranging from their top of the line Chocera's down to unusable abominations like the Golden Lobster. Most of their stuff is great. The Chocera line is their top-o-the-heap. Those stones are universally amazing at every grit. Again, I've got nearly every Chocera made but I've never used the SS, so this is heresay regarding them. The SS line uses the same abrasive but less of of it. Don't press for "how do you know"...a little bird told me. A little bird that toured a factory in Japan. Take this for what it is.

These are just labeled Naniwa Japanese Waterstones. I don't see a model listed.
