do all framelocks wobble??? or just my Otanashi Noh Ken???

I can't accept any side to side play on any of my folders (main reason : my 20 $ Sodbuster has absolutely no sideplay whatever. True story). So why should I accept it on a high end item ? Play in the lock is just a failure, plain as that.

Play in a lock is failure and side to side play has nothing to do with a lock. It's comments like this that lead everyone to believe even $20 knives should be rock solid. Luckily this is the internet

How is your detent? I had to send mine back because it came open in my pocket!!!

Thank you Knifenut, that's the kind of answer I was hoping for. Its not a huge deal im just persnikity about my knives. I realize its not a high end custom but theres lots of talk about how rock solid it is and how it was designed for SOCOM. Im about as ready to believe SOCOM uses this knife as I am in Elvis working at the Orange Julius at the mall. I have some more high end knives and ive NEVER had a problem with those. But I also have the M-16t and its rock solid as is my ZDP-189 Spyderco Endura. I just feel that whether its a $100 knife or a $1000 knife it should function as advertised. Ive been looking at several higher end framelocks (Strider) and some others and everything ive read has them being indestrucable. Anyways, im gonna tighten the sucker up and we'll see what happens. Thanks again all fo r taking the time to help, im new to this forum and new to knife making so any info is much appreciated

FYI, the detent on mine is light and not all side to side play is gone. If you tighten until the play is gone the blade won't open ;)

Either way its still a tough knife that's more than capable of its design.

If any of my framelocks had blade-wiggle or lock-rock, I'd either give 'em away, send back to Customer Service for repair, or throw it away in disgust. Man, there's a whole lot of brands out there that have rock-solid lockup. Only way I'll fly.

when I got my ZT 0561 it had minor side to side play which was due to the pivot getting a small about of lubricant in the threads before assembly which made it come loose after several cycles of opening and closing. All I had to do was take out the pivot screw, give it a wipe, apply Loctite and retighten.
