Do any multi's have good corkscrews?

The same thing happens to me.

Just use enough leverage to break the seal between the cork and the bottle neck. After that, it usually pulls right out without too much fuss.

.....What I've found using a Spartan is that when I grab the bottle w/ my left hand and pull w/ my right nothing happens except I hurt my fingers......

Vics. are the only corkscrew I own , ( and can opener for that matter ) . They work OK for me. The add on corkscrew for the Swisstools and Spirit works fine . I carry one in my wallet complete with eyeglass screwdriver .

?

I've never had the SAK corkscrew not work. I twist it in, grip the bottle in one arm, the SAK in the other, and pull them apart. Sometimes I spill a drop or two of wine, but it always works. I've never used the SAK to lever against the bottle, seems like it's just asking to get glass shards everywhere.

Have you tried that method?

I also use it that way. If the cork is very stubborn I put the bottle on the floor or ground between my feet pressing it down with my hand and then pull to ceep it more steady. Can be a matter of strength though as my wife that is smaller than me thinks this metod is to heawy for the arms.
