Do any of you have "dress knives"

Small Persian, customized by Phillip Dobson

Also Kopa Cocobolo and black Purl Micro-Dyad

I carry a 78 Vic Soldier. Someday soon I will own a bloodwood Mnandi. That is a dress knife.

As long as it's small and traditional, it's a dress knife in my books. Sure, it might not have rosewood handle scales, or stag, or mother of pearl, and the blades aren't damascus, but if it doesn't print through my clothes and the blades are sharp, it'll do.

I used to carry this one; made by Steve Fecas and engraved by Ron Nott; red coral scales:

But I just got this in from Don Cowles and engraved by Chris Maloof with Mastadon scales:

I ordered the Cowles because it fits in the pocket, and while I never had any trouble with the Fecas ths is more discrete.

Those are both nice. I really like that Don Cowles. The mammoth is beautiful and that engraving really sets it off. His pocket sheaths are well done too.

For formal &/or dress carry, I usually carry a slip-joint. If light-wight & smallness is primary, then it's probably my David Steier #5 Interframe. Otherwise, it's probably my Menefee SwayBack Jack (Butterscotch micarta with bomb shield & Wharncliffe blade). If I feel I need a locking blade, then it's my Spyderco LadyBug Salt or Micro-Dyad (Brown jigged bone). I'd rather not have a folder clipped on my pocket.

I always have my HAK with me (On my keychain).

My Ripple is a favourite for suit-wearin' occasions. I'd also consider my Centofante 3, Sage 1, or a small slippie. My Benchmade 940 might do as well.

This one with any bone or stag handle slip joint. That's the wonderful thing about SJs; they can always do double duty as dress and work knife!

My dress knife... this knife weighs practically nothing, so it's great with dress slacks. And operates like a fine precision machine.

Everyone's knives on here are really awesome looking. If i could, i'd choose one of you guys' knives instead of the one i carry.

I'm a newb, and my "dress" knife is an 890 Torrent by Benchmade....i think it's really classy looking, but still "tacticool" in a way :)

cool thread , its getting boring looking at "hard use " and "Tacticool " everything is tactical now .
here is few of "small" size

I gonna post more later , need to find photos.

Now here's a real dress knife! Good for anything from zombie control to a night of sheeple friendly dining out :D

Hi Vanguard41xx -

Very nice knife - I have not seen one like that.

I have a few knives that I can use for dress. I sometimes will use a traditional slip-joint. Two that I really love are the small Butterbean and the red- bone whittler that I got from Rob Thomason.

I also like this Pictured Jasper re-handled Case Trapper that Redrummed (Mike Hoover) customized for me:

I also sometimes pull out my late step-father's Case pen:

.

I recently picked up this CRK Small Sebenza 21 with Bloodwood, and it has become a favorite "Sunday going-to-meeting" knife.

I have several others as well - I like to have options.

best regards -
