. . . slide show?

We would like to put a DVD together for the HOG induction dinner at BLADE '08 that would consist of pics from previous blade shows, assorted knives, and other pics from Busse Knife history. . . .

We have rented a restaurant with a boat load of televisions and think that it would make for some extra fun to have this puppy looping throughout the dinner and subsequent drinking and cigar smoking activities. . . .

If you are able to do this kind of thing and would like to trade for some INFI. . . . Please let me know ASAP!!!!

Email me at jerry@bussecombat.com or call the shop and ask for the "Janitor" ! ! ! !

Thanks,

Jerry :D

I don't know crap about making DVDs but that sure sounds like a splendid idea for the dinner. It would surely add a nice touch to see snap shots of previous inductions.

Some video editing HOG should get lucky! I would be all over it if I had the skill.

Jerry, you could even ask for people to send any photos they may have to the person doing this. They may have different photos from you. Just a thought. Also, my good friend Charlie, that is going to the show knows how to do this. Ron.....

i havnt used them yet but i have a few programs i bought for doing this type of thing
but i found my dvd player could already play a slideshow with a dvd burnt with jpg files

buckman#10 is on to it. All you need to do is to burn your pictures onto a DVD. The DVD player "should" be able to read them as is.

you can burn jpg's to a disk and the player will do the slide show. at least that's the way i do it here.

great idea boss!!

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom has an option to make a PDF that, when opened using Adobe Reader, will automagically open in slideshow mode. I scanned my parents' wedding album, fixed up the scans in Lightroom, then crafted a slideshow PDF. All you need to do this are the photos, and Lightroom takes care of the rest.

yea i think so
and even most video files (mpg wmv etc.)
but if he wanted audio and video/pics spliced together then you would use a program like i mentioned i have

good idea jerry i would sure like a copy of the completed project

Hey Boss. I made a dvd movie one time. I used NERO on the computer. It took some time as I'm not really a computer guy. You have to download the program from nero.com I believe. I hope this helps.

I gave Hammy and Gravelface a copy one time..... ;)

Well ... don't want to brag ... but one of my daughters is a film major.

The only issue -- she has to finish her major project (a graduation requirement for her film department) before she could do this.

I'll ask her!

EDIT: It's a go! Becky said yes -- e-mail sent to Wauseon, OH.

I think that buckman#10 provided the easiest advice. I realize now that what I suggested would work only if you are able to connect a computer to the displays. If a DVD player must drive it, then simply burning images to a DVD sounds like the simplest solution.

For me ... it's really, really easy.

I just ask Becky what to do. :D

OK, what is the Hog Induction Dinner?

OK, what is the Hog Induction Dinner?

It's a ceremony. A solemn ceremony filled with deep meaning. :foot:

OK ... it's where a lot of us Busse knife maniacs gather at Blade to watch The Man induct worthy piglets into a state of Hogdom.

If you have dived deep ... nose deep ... into INFI, and you are going to make it to Blade, you should let the wonderful Amy-o know this. You could be a candidate for Hogdom.

I can't describe the details, of course, having taken a solemn Porcine Oath, but it was very moving and significant. And there was a lot of grunting. :D

And I had a wonderful time meeting many other maniacs such as myself.

Personally, I think Fiddleback would be a wonderful candidate. :D
