• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Do any of you know a custum knife maker who makes or specializes in Ulus?

I really like the ulu design and I'd like to get one that's not a producution.

I was just woundering being this is a forum where people like to discuss buying and making custom knives you'd know somebody.

I'm not looking for anything really high end, so just someone who makes a somewhat attractive looking in carbon steel.

we have an ulu made by tai goo (http://www.taigooknives.com). it's used for cutting all kind of stuff in the kitchen, mostly pizza...

this is not the cheapest ulu you can get, but certainly one of better ones by one of the better makers...

Dutch knifemaker Gert Van Den Elsen made some very nice ones:

An Ulu, the traditional knife of the Inuit.

4½ inch blade of random damascus with a core of 90MnCrV8, handle of mineralised walrus tooth, with end caps of mammoth ivory, fastened with a mosaic pin.

The same, but with a layered damascus blade and an oosik/mammoth ivory hamdle.

I own a really smart one made by member Daniel Koster.

Northern Knives also carries several from Dancing Man Knives that are more traditional/primitive looking. My favorites so far, and I grew up around the things.
