Just made myself a notebook, i have been looking for a small thin notebook for edc but no luck! So i made one my self.

Some cow leather from ebay and a plastic lid from a icecream box and some fabric!

Nice job making it yourself - I use a Moleskine Volant XS in my pocket; it's surprisingly sturdy for how small it is!

wow man that's awesome!! nicely done.... & ya i combo a pad&pen, i have carry a United cutlery tac. pen & a really thin note book with a aluminum case that i came across are a bird feed shop (weirdest place, love it though)

its good to pack a pen, lets face it, 'Tis mightier the sword" haha

I use a Maxpedition 3x5 notepad cover for work. It has some elastic sewn inside and will hold a short pen. They are super rugged and zip all the way around, protecting my notepad from light rain and butt sweat. I lose them about once per year, and don't hesitate for a second to drop $15 on a new one.

I like the Moleskin notepads coupled with a collapsable Zebra pen.

Yes sir, used to carry a moleskin along with my pen but I recently switched to Leuchtturm 1917 notebooks. They are more consistent in their quality and have a table of contents and page numbers which are handy for organizing your notes. The Apica cd-10 is another great low price option for pocket carry albeit with a reduced feature set. I know some people covet the Midori travelers notebook but for its price, ehhh. Granted it does let you customize your notebook anyway you want but 60 bucks for the cover and 6 bucks a pop for the notebook refills, no thanks. It has style and character but not as much as the one you put together

I carry a Stainless Steel Sharpie Pen and a "hipster PDA", basically a bunch of index cards and a binder clip. I used half size index cards since regular ones are too big for my pocket.

.Clear your paper clutter, people

Ill be the first to admit I'm addicted to my phone. Old fashioned pen and paper just helps me slow down and rationalize my thoughts which is why I use it for project ideas, outlines, setting goals etc. For a quick jot like a phone number or reminder I almost always use my phone.

Mostly joking above, I think that the notepad that nyddde made is beautiful.

But I'm just the opposite; I carry a notepad to jot down items on the fly because it takes more time to use the phone.

When things slow down a bit (or I stop driving), I transfer the notes to my cloud based system.

I use it to read notes a lot.

For instance, I keep a running list of groceries / walmart / home depot / UPS store item lists in evernote,
and sync them (well, they sync automatically) to my phone before I go out to run errands.

I keep a rite-in-the-rain clicker pen and notepad in the doom-bag. I've heard great things about "Field Notes" notebooks, and would like to get some at some point (but the international shipping is steep)

Been edc'ing paper and pens since..... well, kindergarten. Are we that worried about what everyone else carries that we're down to pen and paper? Oof.

Here's my set up:

Small Moleskine Volant fits perfectly inside my wallet:

Inka Ti pen on keychain (5+ years)

.... and that way I always have a full-sized writing instrument and a quality notebook on me at all times to jot down upcoming designs, brilliant thoughts, and sandwich orders

I also keep a large hardcover Moleskine in my day pack and that's where the real stuff goes.

Yes. EDCForums is worse. USN may be even worse(r?). You're talking to people that have no problem plunking down $100+ (and that's on the low end!) on a piece of pocket cutlery..... of course they are going to find ways to funnel money into something else. :D

My generation may be the last to carry such things on our person.... most people just write notes or verbally dictate into their smartphone. Serves the same purpose I suppose, but a lot of what I do would get lost in the brain-to-computer interface translation. I'll take pencil and paper any day!

The note book is Write in the Rain, as well as the pen. Condor knife and tool Mini Bushlure w/ Kydex sheath by Kim Breed and Tech Lok.

The note book looks great.

I already feel like I carry too much when I bring a method of fire, wallet, knife and phone.
