Do good knife makers occasionally make bad knives?

Yes Keith: Around the camp fire, coffee shop, church, parts house, most of the folks he see walking down the street. Not all bad, it is always smile time, he is good folks and you got to learn to laugh at your self with others. At first I took it serious, then realized he was having fun with it, and now I can also.

At the blade show last June someone walked up to Rob Simonich with a knife that he had gotten from Bladeart.......still flat on the edge. We took it home with us to Jerry Hossoms house and made it better. But thats not the END of the story. A few months later I got a call from this guy in Honolulu that hemmed and hawed around on the phone asking funny questions. Finally I said, get to the point, and he told me he had bought a Simonich knife from Bladeart and it had never been sharpened!!!!!!!   I told him to bring it over as Rob was my friend and I certainly didnt want it getting around that he has ADD along with a quickly fading eyesight problem!! :) :) :)
Hey Rob..................Hi there!!!! :p :p :p

Yes, Tom and Jerry are my heros! Sad to say but the above story is true! I now cut myself with each knife to ensure it dosent happen again! :p

Yeah, but you drill pretty straight holes. Rob... :)

I shipped a knife I forgot to edge once. The guy who got it called me, and after hemming and hawing for about 15 minutes, he finally asked, "is this knife supposed to shave?" As soon as he asked I realized what had happened. I sure didn't feel very smart at that moment.

Yeah, I figured it would be years before that was all forgotten about! Like Ed saya above, learn to laugh at yourself! :D :D

OUCH!!!

Hell, in reality I'd be honored to have a knife from either of you whether it was sharp or not! Forgeting an edge is easy enough to fix.

Actually, I've often thought about making an oyster knife for myself for all those once or twice a year times I actually steam up some oysters. Real oysters though, not the mountain variety. :barf:

Rob knows we're just funnin' with him:D One helluva maker!! I'm thinkin' about a Raven at Blade, or maybe a parasite if'n I'm lucky:cool:

Nobody, as a matter of fact, I bought the neck knife right of Rob's neck! When we realized the "edge problem";), I did not even want to give it back for him to sharpen, 'cause I did not want to wait for it to be returned via the mails!!!! Jerry Hossom graciously solved the problem for us in his shop:D  :D

Gracious, my butt! I was half drunk (well maybe a tad more than half), had never touched Talonite before and had no idea how to sharpen it (everything Mayo told me was wrong), it was Rob's knife, owned by someone else, and it was Midnight after a long day at the show! There wasn't a gracious bone in my body... :)

That's the thought you should have had in your mind after our recent trade when you started feeling guilty:D ...wait, on second thought I guess I'm lucky you did'nt:)

d'you ever fire that little jewel??

"Gracious, my butt! I was half drunk..."

HA! Now that sounds like the unadulterated truth! :)
