Well my dad and me went carp fishing on thursday. The day started realy slow with my dad the only one that got fish with me not even a bite. Then later during the day the fish started to bite.... Lots of good sized fish on the stringer. I got one about 12+lb maybe even more. Toward the end of the day my dad says o.k time to go home. When he pull the rod back in he got one more fish. Goes to put the fish on the stringer and OOOOOPPPPPPPPSSSSSS it slips out of his hand and gone in a split sec. My dad lost around 100lb of fish... Its not just the fish that he lost but all the fish that would just die for no reason .... So nothing realy exciting except for a funny fish story...

G'day sasha

Sorry to hear about the loss of the days catch :thumbdn:

It doesn't suprise me the carp became more active as the water warmed up a little.

At least all the nutrients within the caught carp will get recycled within this waterway. Not much consolation I know :D .

Remember there's always next time

Kind regards
Mick

 I know it is your father, but I sent dudes swimming to retrieve things less important than that:D

That's a good one. My boss told a story about a time he was fishing off the rocks on a dam, I seem to remember it being Ft. Pierre in South Dakota. Could have been anywhere, but I digress... He had several fish on a stringer, and was fishing a hundred yards or so away from it. He looked back over and a couple muskrats were running off with his fish.

I've had a few occasions where the little buggers tried to get mine, but I try to keep a close eye on them now.

That stinks.

A related anecdote: I once hooked a stringer of fish that one of my fellow anglers must have lost only a day or two before. It was snagged on some floating branches. I thought I had hooked the branches, but when I reeled them in, up came this stringer of half-rotten semi-eaten bass. Clearly a snapping turtle had used them as a buffet at some point. Anyway, the scent alone was enough to put me off the idea of a shore lunch.

All the best,

- Mike
