Do I want a 1 or 2 -ton arbor press?

I'm shopping for an arbor press for straightening and stamping purposes.

Should I spend the extra $ on a 2-ton, or is 1-ton enough?

You didn't say what you are going to do with the press. If you are just using it to mark your blades and other simple tasks, then 1 ton is plenty. If you are doing some more robust tasks, the extra force would be nice. I use a hydraulic power for anything over one ton. The air powered bottle jacks work well in such situations.

I use a one ton to stamp my name...wish I'd have bought the two now...I really have to lean on her hard when stamping 440c.
