Howdy,

Since I got the information here, I thought I would post it here...

I spent the day at the Moon Pie Boulangerie et Patisserie....

Where I made a knifemakers vise, of the pattern sold by Chuck Ward....

Photos to come later....

Play on words that bit about Moon Pies....

Here is the knifemaker's vise, so far....

It is not complete, but I have set a good foundation....

This is the base, my idea, so that the whole apparatus can rotate around. I may scrap the angle iron for a plate, but I have angle iron today, I do not have plate.

This is where the one I copied starts, but in this case, because of the base, you have rotation.

This allow arc.

And here is the vise part.... And it has all thread mounted on the bottom, so it will rotate.

Still needed, are the slots for clamping the blade perpendicular, and the vise faces or jaws, so to speak.... I don't know the technical term. Oh yeah, and I need to drill holes in the base, so that I can mount it, but I will have to wait until the mood suits me... Uh, I meant to say, until I know how I will mount it, I mean uhhhhh.... We will leave it at that....
