I just had a very bad experience with a gentleman by the name of Greg Gunther. He asked me to pick up a Carson for him. Went out and bought a gun instead. Now he is having domestic problems and refuses to buy the knife I purchased for him at the price he requested.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HIM OR YOU WILL BE SORRY.

Hello:
There are Two sides to every story. Bob picked up a knife at a show. Small Carson, list at $375, he said he would charge the makers list price. Got back to me after the show, says I owe him $465. Ouch. He backed down to 425, but by then I had it with constant e-mails and even a phone call after I specifically asked him not to call. Yes, I backed out of the deal, but only after he pushed things to far. I would have paid the 425 if he would have backed off. Now he slams ME!! It wasn't the gun that caused me to back out of the deal, it was Bob.

Greg

I came to this one late, so forgive me. What the hell do you mean "I believe Greg and I settled this privately. Let's move on." You trash this guy publicly, including putting things in here about his private life that have nothing to do with your deal, and then you think you have the right to tell us all to move on? What's up with that? Your the one who opened up this can of sludge. How about finishing the public execution with telling us why you granted the reprieve. It doesn't sound like you offered it to him at the price HE requested does it? Is this what we can expect if we do business with you? What the hell does his marital discord have to do with anything?

p.s.- If you bother answering this, do it here and not in email.

It doesn't take a genius to read between the lines here. Bob was expecting to get a purveyors discount from Kit when he quoted makers list price. Kit didn't give him the discount, and so he passed on a higher price to the customer so he could make some money. This is in spite of the fact that he had already quoted a price. The honorable thing would have been to pass the knife on at no profit, chalk it up to developing good will, and learn from one's mistakes for the future.
Greg balked at the inflated price and Bob chose to drag him through the mud here.
I have been on BF for 2 years and have NEVER ONCE seen a purveyor drag a customer up here on GB+U.
Bob, you posted about a month ago that you were getting out of the business. Don't tease us! I am not minding my own business here because when you posted this thread, you made it everybody's business.
BTW, when you threaten to sue me, my attourneys are Dewey, Cheatham and Howe. You should be very familiar with them!
A decidedly non-customer I remain,
David

As I said, this was strickly miscommunications between both of us. That was it. We both got very angry. We managed to identify the miscommunication, and mended our fences. The problem was miscommunication via email. I regret bringing this public.

The previous scenerio that you just defined is not what happened. For that matter, I don't even have the knife anymore. I really didn't buy it for me anyway. My intention was to get Greg the knife he requested I get. Yes, I am a dealer, and I was trying to make a customer happy. I would like to live this one down because, I did make a mistake in bringing this public too quickly. I was angry and regret doing it. I say that for the second time. We resolved our disagreement. That is it. I was wrong!!! I apologized to Greg, he apologized to me. We have said our apologies to each other. That is as far as I will go. The rest is between Greg and I. It is all water under the bridge.

Hey Bob...

First off I can't believe this thread is still alive....

Secondly,, you see now why it is so important to resolve issues to the best of your ability, before bringing them here,, to The Peoples Court!

A slip of the finger not only caused grief to your "customer" but also bought you some bad press as well....

Use this forum Wisely My Friend, as it can sometimes have a tendency to backfire if not handled properly...

The GBU forum is a Very powerful tool, that needs to be respected and only used when needed and all other avenues have been used up...

Luckily I have not yet fealt the Wrath of the GBU...
