Hi,

I never would have thought that it would be necessairy for me (us) to warn people against dealing with a certain person.
I still don't feel good about it but don't want other BF friends to get sc..wed either.

Our Scouting club, represented by me got stiffed (I think that's the right slang word for it) for $30 when we send somebody some Glowrings.

The guy never reacted to my emails asking if he received them and when I found him by looking through the Internet telephone directories and gave him a ring home he told me he had received the Glowrings already.
Whe I asked him about when he was planning to sent out the money he said that he would sent the money.

He was supprised that I phoned him from Holland, I heard that from his voice. He also stumbled over his words when I asked him about his end of the deal.

Up till now and that's a good 2.5 weeks after I phoned him he hasn't send out the money AND he doesn't even react to my emails.

I won't tell his name as I don't like doing that but I (our scouting club) learned our lesson and I (we) will only send Glowrings or Firesteels when we get them again in the future to Blade Forum members, as you lot are a great bunch of friendly people

that still believe that ones word is ones word.

NEVER EVER deal with: mac1st@webtv.net
unless you receive your money first.

He lives in Roanoke (VA) and also is active on Ebay.

Through his action we lost a large part of the very small "profit" we made on selling some of our extra Glowrings/Firesteels

.

I just wished I could pay him a visit and ask for money he owes us.

Hey Guys....

Well Piet...

As far as I'm concerned he should be Exposed.

E-mail him again, and tell him that if he doesn't respond to you ,,you will expose him in public and his posting may be revoked on Bladeforums...

I wouldn't let it drop Piet...
Maybe e-mail from a bunch of us will change his mind...

If you want to get an e-mail campaigne started, let me know I'm in..

Hi Eric,

I don't know if this guy is active on the Blade Forums I guess he's not but he contacted us.

I know he was on the Ebay however..... You set me thinking and I went over to Ebay and looked him up, should have done this earlier as I found he had 7 out of 10 Negative
frown.gif
feedbacks. Just shows that I should have done my homework better.

I just wanted to warn everybody and don't want email actions etc. as that goes completely against my nature.

I'll give him a call at 2 am our time and that's the last money I'll spend on him.

NOW for something totally different, I spoke to my daughter and she said a small package had arrived and she spelled the name S.H.E.A.T.H so I guess that I'm now the proud owner of some Canadian Made Concealex/Kydex sheath for my Cold Steel SRK and Master Hunter scouting knives WITH a Large Swedish Firesteel Holder
smile.gif
smile.gif
this makes me happy as I now have two of my vices combined in one compact package, a sharp knife and a fire making tool

Piet, I E-mailed the idiot deadbeat and asked him nicely to pay you what he owes. Next time I won't be so nice. WE won't let this matter drop. Notice I said WE.
Regards,
Clayton

Hi,

Normark (Eric) and the ones interested in Erics sheath with integrated firesteel holder, it turns out I was wrong with the sheaths I just arrived home from work (it's 19:20h over here) and the sheaths were just one sheath and it was the replacement that Will Fennel send me for the Talon I traded with an BF member. The original sheath was avery loose fit and the new one fits like a glove, securely and still smooth.

Guys, please don't make a big fuss about MAC1ST I just wanted to warn every one never to deal with him.

Best scouting wishes from Holland,

Bagheera

You know for the Scouts we all could send a buck and make up the loss real quick. I would sure send in a buck. Why don't you give us a address and 30 of us send a buck. Postage can't be that much. Just me thinking out loud. Ed

Bagheera,

If you'd open a PayPal account for your troop, I'm the first one in.

It's not the pace of life that concerns me, It's the sudden stop at the end.

Hi SgtMike,

I'm sorry that you and another BF member seem to be the only to persons not having received the firesteels that I sent.

The steel could still just arrive this week otherwise I'll see what I can come up with, you might be supprised.

Strange thing is that you guys both live in NY state...... where did that armoured truck drive with it's doors open again?
wink.gif
if they can do that I guess Mr. Postman can do it also.

Guys please don't send money I (we) appreciate the extreme kindness and friendly gesture but I'm (we're) not trying to liberate money from anybody. What happened was just bad luck and nothing else, we all are still healthy, have extreme fun at scouting, so life's still very good to us and it's to short to have it spoiled by these small "hickups".

But being Dutch
wink.gif
(even with only about 30.000 genes instead of the 100.000 people allways thought we had
smile.gif
) I guess it would be a good idea to try to get some more firesteels and sell them to your Ferrocium deprived Nation of knife and fire(steel) lovers
wink.gif
that way we could make some extra money and forget what happened.

Bagheera: I live ~100miles from Roa VA and have a friend with Police Dept. If you have any documentation let me know if I can help. I have two girls, 9&11yo and would not like them to be "taken" when they sell girl scout cookies. Regards mike

Hey, I too just sent the guy an email reminding him he was not too far from where I live...hope the BladeForum Brotherhood puts the pressure on the guy and squeeze the proverbial blood from the turnip. Best wishes md

Piet, I am sorry this happened to you and the scouts. I enjoyed dealing with someone who understood that his or her word was their bond and expected the same from others. I respect your wish to not have us make good on your loss but we are talking about scouts as well yourself.

Therefore I would like to make the following offer:

I have made a sizable purchase of Glowrings for personal use. I can easily offer to ship 3 units in Green or Ice Blue anywhere you ask within the US. The receiver can then fulfill the transaction to you in your usual CASH AFTER RECEIPT method.

While it may be true that “No good deed goes unpunished” this is a lesson that your scouts can learn later in life.

Please don’t mistake this action for charity. It was such a pleasure to do business with you previously and I would hate to see a “bad apple” spoil it for others. I do plan on making other purchases from you in the future and I have some spare Glowrings. What can I say… you find neat stuff to help your scouting troop make ends meet and this “Old Scout” would consider it an honor to help out.

Hi Lorne,

Thanks for the extremely kind offer but please wait perhaps everything will work out one never knows.

Still it's really fine to know that the BF members are such a good group of people. Friendly and trustworthy I'm proud that I know a whole bunch of you through the emails we exchange and some trades or deals we've done.

Thanks friends for your support.

Best Scouting wishes from Holland,

My Firesteel doth cometh today. Hooray! Now what is that included funny chunk of wood for? Last organic edible before going cannibal?

Nakano

Hi Nakano,

Guinness book of records performance
frown.gif
for delivering 1 Firesteel over the Ocean almost 3 weeks and that cost us $1.50 ... chew those NY Postman must be thinking of something else then getting the post out on time
wink.gif

Ellis, thanks for for the offer I visited your custom Blade site and seeing "blades < $1000" as my only choice of an affordable knife It won't be possible for me to buy some Scouting knife from you
wink.gif

Thanks for the $30 offer but again rhis is not our way of doing "business" and never ever was my intention when I wrote this post in the GBU.

One thing would be acceptable for us however, you could buy some Green Glowrings from us and pay us the regular price we ask for them. That way we make some money and you get some nice small keychains that always glow bright green but can be seen only in the dark.

Best Scouting wishes from Holland,

Bagheera
