Do people try to remove your knives from your pocket without asking?

So, maybe it's just me... but I've noticed a large amount of people seem to think that the pocket clip on my pocket says "Hey, just grab me without asking and pull me out without asking the guy I'm attached to!" I swear, this has happened to me so many times I feel I've gotten as much or more practice than most cops do in regards to your holstered weapon retention! (No one has managed to clear my pocket yet:cool:). This is also a big problem as I sometimes carry knives with waves  Yeah, that's the last thing I need- some stupid person pulling my razor sharp toys and accidentally stabbing me :grumpy:. So how about you guys? Is it just me, or do other people have problems with people getting too "child in a museum" over their knives?

A friend (who has a little knife knowledge, much more than anyone else there) attempted to pull my snubby out and i caught and yapped "no no!, theres a wave on this one..."

he stopped instantly and chuckled

Not once in the 20 or so years I've had a knife clipped to my pocket.

Zero Time, what kind of juvenile idiots do you hang around with???

You need a new group of friends. None of mine has ever or would ever do that.

Only an extraordinarily stupid person would yank a knife out of another person's pocket.

People know me, so they ask first.
They know it will end up in a fingerlock if they don't. Not to harm them, just so they will never do it again.

The way I see it, I am responsible of the knives I carry, so if someone takes my knife and do something stupid with it, I can be in some trouble.

I would consider that theft. No, people don't try to remove knives from my pockets.

I was at a local supermarket looking for a magazine, and my cousin (I thought he was with his parents) approaches me from behind and reaches around to pull my knife from my pocket. All I saw was an arm reaching around from behind me, so without thinking, I threw a backwards elbow strike. Threw it pretty hard too.

Luckily (for him), my cousin is only about 5' 2", so it just grazed the top of his head. ;)

Other then that, I've had a friend who tried to slip a Delica out of my pocket, but he received a quick smack on his hand before he could grab it. A quick demo of how a Ghetto wave works was enough to stop him from doing it again.

I can't recall anyone ever trying that stunt on me. I agree with Leanwolf's question as to the caliber of nitwits that, unfortuneately, surround you.

Nope. Doubt that anyone I know would try that, even if drunk. Anyone who tried would get their fingers locked followed-up by a head butt.

Some of the idiots I used to know/ hang around with did that not only with my sheathed fixed blade:eek:, but all the other crap on my belt as well. Every time somebody did it, I would just grab their wrist tightly, look them in the eye, and tell them to knock it off. Luckily, no one ever got hurt, and the same person never did it twice:cool:.

That was my exact thought when I read the original post. Maybe if the OP matures for another 15 or 20 years he could be trusted to have a knife around the people he hangs out with then.

Can't say that it's happened to me yet but the first person who tries it is getting an elbow to the throat .

There's people like that all over, so I sympathize with Zero_Time. Although it does seem to happen to him way too often.

I've worked in otherwise civilized offices where people thought it was all right to grab pens out of my pocket. Since some of the "pens" in my pocket weren't pens ... not a good idea. My reaction was often intemperate, but I never actually hit anyone for doing it. :)
