Maybe it's just me but I've noticed over the past couple of years that the Busse sale forum gets loaded down with INFI whenever the economy goes south. Within the past few weeks there have been some safe queens and rarities that have never before seen the light of day. Is it just me or is the sale of INFI a mirror on the state of the economy?

it definatly is! i tried explaining this to someone who doesnt live in the united states yesterday but i guess its hard to understand if you dont live here.

It is not just Busse's. Take a look at that unmentionable auction site. Even Randall knives, with their 4-5 year waiting list are selling at lower than expected prices.

People are a bit frightened by the uncertainty in the economy and are holding on to their expendable income... just in case the SHTF.

This may be true for nearly anything.

Here is what I live by. "Tony, my son, If you don't want to own it for the rest of your life... don't buy it."

Of course dad and I were talking about women at the time but it applies to most other things

Why yes,...yes it does. Imagine buying a knife for close to $1600 and not being able to sell it for hundreds less.

Of course it does. I think it's odd how many great knives are up there still. The economy and the SFNO release is keeping me out of a couple purchases right now. Well, that and that damned folder tease...

The best investment advice I ever heard:

"When there's blood in The Street, it's time to buy."

Seems it would apply to Busses, as well.

Here is what I live by. "Tony, my son, If you don't want to own it for the rest of your life... don't buy it."

That's my policy as well. That's why I'm not concerned about resale value or anything like that. Because I'm going to keep the stuff anyway.
