Do Super Steels Need To Be Stropped?

I don't like high grit edges. 600 DMT max lately to strop. I have many finer stones but I prefer a working edge.
 
I strop high end steels on leather or balsa with CBN or diamond spray.

For my "bragging rights" blades, I'll go down to .1 micron diamond.

For general use, I find that 3 micron CBN works quite well.
