I found a lot of things here https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/opinel-new-lock-ring-bad-design.1533558/
I don't really know how strong the lock is, and don't want to test it. I just want it to be safe enough to use for everyday uses like opening packages and boxes, without it closing and chopping off my fingers. Any thoughts? Will putting the pressure on the blade's edge (and not the spine) and in the opposite way the knife closes prevent it from shutting, even without the locking ring?
