Howdy yall,

I'm in my first full week of carrying my first sebenza and I'm enjoy every minute of it. I'll write up a longer review (I know the sebenza has been reviewed 10,000 times, but its fun so why not) after I put it through a little more use. This is actually the first knife I've ever carried with a lanyard on the handle, and I'm not 100% sure what I think yet. It definitely provides a little extra utility for getting the knife out of my pocket, especially with gloves on, but its not exactly a hard task either way. I'm just curious, do most of yall keep them on or take them off? The jury is still out for me. A little extra ease of access is nice, but I'm not fully sold on the looks of having a little black paracord hanging out of my pocket.

I keep the lanyards off pretty much 100% of the time. What I go back and forth on is whether I carry with or without the pocket clip.

That one is easy for me- a big affirmative. I carry my sebenza in a pocket with a my keys and pen (I'm front pocket carrier now out of fear of losing another knife), and that is the easiest way for me to know I can get at it easily even with gloves. Also, for any dressier/lighter weight pants it may seem counter intuitive, but the clip is a big plus it my eyes. A bit of the knife may be visible, but it makes the knife as a whole less visible or obtrusive in your pocket.

I really like them but they are handy for use without a pocket clip. I have fun with it, using various beads and various colors of paracord to make them.

The answer is definitely yes/no

Best Peter

I change lanyard yes/no/different colors/beads... from time to time.

Yea, i rarely ever carry in the pocket without a clip. Its either clipped to a pocket or in a sheath without the clip. Either way it is all about easy access.

No lanyard. They get dirty and when I use the knife in the kitchen they get wet.

For using the knives and aesthetics I prefer sebenzas without the lanyard. But they make it much easier to get securely pull it out of a sheath or pocket

I have a lanyard on my small reg, but my large reg didn't come with one and I have not felt the need to put one on it. They do get a bit soggy if you get them wet. I like the look of a lanyard, though, and it helps grasp a smaller handle.

On my zaan yes, on my small, no I only go small when I need to be discreet and that thing flopping on top of the clipped knife draws attention where I don't want it, if I didn't care about that it would still be on...

Just got my small sebbie, have been going back and fowarth. I dont relly like it when clipped to my jeans, too much hangin out of my pocket. Hoever it is kind of nice when I drop it in my pocket at work (Office with slacks, don't want anthing clipped to my pant pockets).
Overall No.

I literally got my first Sebenza today and took the lanyard off with the first 10 minutes of owning the knife. No reason to have the lanyard flopping out of my pocket in my opinion.

I removed mine and tied my own. Here's a question for you guys though, where do you guys buy the fancier CRK lanyards with the bead in the middle? Specifically for a small sebenza. I'd really like to use the lanyard pin but am not a huge fan of the stock plain black lanyard and non gutted 550 cord doesn't really play nice with the lanyard pin.

Several CRK dealers sell them.

PM sent...

I take all mine off. never been a big fan. I do like the look of the lanyard pin in the knife. I can deal with one empty hole but two empty holes is too much haha. I cut a short bit of the lanyard off and burn both end enough to hold it in place and still not able to be seen. Although, the 25 solves this problem, another advantage..
