I would NEVER carry a BM Auto Stryker! It just wouldn't be right. Just not a legal thing to do!

All the time! I carry UDT as my EDC knife. But of course, since It's 100% legal in Poland I do not have to worry about it...

I like autos, they're real cool for novelty. But I don't really NEED an auto. Much less do I desire to carry one. Any more than I desire to carry a gun that fires by voice-command.

Plus, I like to get the blade out of that handle all by my self.

I don't carry an auto mostly for legal reasons. If I was searched today, they would have found a Sifu, 710, 940, and Harpy, plus the SAK, LMST & LM Micra. I'm guessing an LEO would not have been happy finding me carrying all those, but there's not much he could do about it since they're all legal. If I were carrying an illegal knife I wouldn't be expecting to be cut any slack. That being said, I like them for the gadget factor and would probably carry one if I thought I could get away with it. I have a LCC DA on order

I don't carry one for the legal risk. I try to abide by the law - even though I think it is a stupid/ineffective law. If they were legal - maybe I would carry one. I am fairly new to knives and I don't even have any in my collection – yet

Ron - nice 'Glock', !

I used to carry a GT mini (CA legal) upon occasion when I lived in California. Here in Virginia, it sits in a box in the closet.

I carry the CRKT M16, which is the closest I've ever come to an auto. For one thing, I can't afford most autos.

The M16 opens fast enough for me, and is perfectly legal where I am.

I don't carry an auto that much anymore.
I used to carry one all the time. I guess I still would if my Reflex had a clip on it. now I only take it with me when I can strap it on my pack strap. Backpacking ect..

Only Spydercos at the moment..

These knives deploys fast and are safe!! But I'm very tempted to procure Microtech's dual-action LCC...

I have one - a Benchmade mini-Stryker. I like it a lot, but I don't carry it very often. I freak people out enough with the regular knives...

Usually I just put it in a coat pocket in the winter. Not quite legal, no concealed carry allowed, so I guess it shouldn't be sitting in the bottom of a pocket out of sight. Guess I'm just lucky to live somewhere where they're not completely illegal... So I usually carry a couple of Spydercos instead.

No. Frowned upon in my line of work. Might end up in the personal collection of a LEO. While I don't agree that auto openers are *not* any more dangerous than equivalent manual openers, I do agree that common sense and the law part ways there.

No, not for a while.I dont have Any anymore. They are ILlegal to carry in Maryland and also in surrounding states of West virginia and Virginia except for authorized people. I had a problem with these knives and just straightened it out. Wont go into details but dont want to see these autos anymore. Ever again. And It seems that the authorities in several states such as West virigina and Virginia are checking gun shows and flea markets for Sellers of auto knives. I saw this personally at gun shows in Virginia and flea markets in West Virginia and Virginia. If your state doesnt allow carry or sale of these knives, I would stay the heck away from ALL of them. It is Not worh the hassle and loss of sleep if you get into trouble over them.Believe me.

Hey Paranoid,

Forget the auto, I bet any sharp item would be "played" with in your profession if it were no longer in your pocket. Ouch!

Ron

i believe in most states if you have a concealed weapons permit you can carry an automatic knife legally. And who wouldn't want to exercise their right to bear arms ??

In Washington State, that is clearly NOT the case. It used to be called a CWP (Concealed Weapons Permit), but that did not reflect the law. I just looked on mine and CWP is not on it. It says, "LICENSE TO CARRY CONCEALED PISTOL."

Ron
