Do you carry fixed blade as EDC ? if yes which one ?

I've rediscovered my love for the little Fiddleback Hiking Buddy Andy turned out for me 4 or 5 years ago. Great little sub 3" blade with a handle sculpted like Andy was shaking my hand.

I can't say enough good things about. It's been a loyal little knife only (slightly) eclipsed by the Woodsman he made me almost 10 years ago:D

Yes we digress, sorry OP. Around here its a rawhide braided romel rein, so a closed loop with a romel, a Californio\buckaroo\vaquero thing. We never lead by the rein. One, we don't want to turn our high port bridle bits over in the horses mouth possibly causing injury. Two, we spent years getting those horses mouths just so, so at best we could screw a lot of that up, at worst one of the leading wrecks like ya mentioned again probable injury to the horses mouth Three, some of these reins are stupid expensive. So we use a get down rope. Here my wife is holding my horse while Stan and I are fixing fence. A guy crashed his plane on the ranch and rescue crews made lots of holes trying to find him. They were too late.

Ya can see my reins are wrapped around my horn and she is holding Sonny by the get down rope. Nothing interferes with his mouth. Talk about stupid expensive. Stan could buy about five of those Glock 19s he's carrying for what her reins cost. Happy wife, happy life. Which brings us back to knives. We're all carrying my knives in a crossdraw sheath which is handy for another reason. We're also all carrying sidearms strongside. Stan his Glock, Nichole has her Colt Mustang and I'm carrying a Springfield EMP. I usually carry something heavier on the ranch but when you are getting up and down a lot fixing fence, that big Smith 610 becomes a brick on the belt as Joe mentioned.
On the trail I use a WWI era watering collar (a light halter, really) under the bridle for the same purpose. One of these days, I'll saddle up and lead a remuda out your way!

I have not had the opportunity to carry a fixed blade because the knives that I have are too large but I fixed that over the last 30 days. I bought 4 smaller knives and two carry rigs.

Bought TWO Ek Commando Knife Co. - Jarosz, Boot Knife, EK102

Bought TWO Les George, Galvos Daggers. One with a leather sheath, one with a kydex sheath, and I ordered a second kydex sheath.

BRT BLADEWORKS (Ben Tendick)
Bought TWO Universal Blade Rigs (1 Single Knife Rig, 1 Double Knife Rig)

sog seal pup. kind of annoying to carry though because of the soft nylon sheath which is just too big to conceal carry. although I only carry it when going on a walk with my dog, going to some sketchy place, or when i go hiking.

I only carry a traditional folder at work, but after hours or on the weekend I have a FB on me. My rotation has been within a group of Arkansas Made Doziers carried in horizontal Kydex sheaths. This one, a Companion with bead blasted scales, was purchased here on the Exchange. It has a 3" D-2 blade, 7" overall. Doziers can take some time to acquire, but are absolutely worth the investment:20180401_092654.jpg
