i choose for both comfort and speed in choosing a folder
the comfort part: 4" closed length, a not too thick handle, lightweight
the speed part: spyderco-hole, tip-down high-carry clip, easy ambi.dex. lock
one way to really piss me off, so to speak, in terms of both comfort and carry is to hand me a folder for edc for a month that:
- is 5" closed
- has a thick handle
- has a deep-carry tip-up clip
- has awkward thumbstuds
- has too smooth/stiff a pivot/lock
it's all personal preference ofcourse. many people prefer bulky folders with tip-up clips that ride low in the pocket. to each his own
