Do You Carry Your IRREPLACEABLE Knives?

Do you guys EDC your irreplaceable knives? By irreplaceable I don't mean your sentimental attachment to certain knives ( I don't care about your feelings). I mean the knives that are so rare that you just can't go and buy another one.

I have a 1998 MOD that I have been EDCing for the last year but I think it really isn't worth it anymore.

I would never carry one that had sentimental value, such as one that belonged to a dad or grandfather. Imagine losing such a knife. I understand, though, how others are willing to take that chance in exchange for the pleasure of carrying and using a valued knife.

and I'm talking about carrying a $500 Chris Reeve or whatever, you can just buy another one if you loose it.

I wouldn't carry a knife that was a sentimental heirloom or similar. I do however regularly carry custom Emerson Knives, CQC-6, and 8 mainly. These would be a little hard to replace and at a cost more than I paid, but I also don't like the idea of them just sitting in a collection either. If they are made to be used, I figure use them regardless of cost. It does make me more aware of their location and I don't loan them for others to use.

Yes - I don't collect I use - so everything I buy will get pocket time no matter what the cost.

I guess I do not understand the term "irreplaceable" in the context you place it. Anything can be replaced if you do not care about anyone's feelings. If you discount everyone's feelings, no knife would be worth more than it's ability to perform the tasks the user desires...and therefore VERY easy to replace.

The knives that hold the highest value to me are those with sentimental value, and I choose not to carry them.

Yes, my B. Goode custom is nearly irreplaceable with the list Brian has now but I love his knives so I use them. I am pretty careful about not dropping them in the woods though.

i have a unique graphic sebenza that i carry. i could replace it with something similar, but not identical.

i have a couple old busses that would be damn near impossible to replace simply because they havent been made for quite some time and no one ever sells them. when i carry a fb, they get used, but i rarely carry one these days.

Yep. Unless you are a devout believer in reincarnation, you're only going to pass this way once. You won't get a chance to carry them next time.

Some people regret the things they did. Most regret the things they didn't. OldDude1

I don't carry the knives I have from my father who passed away last year. I have no hesitation EDCing and using all my Chris Reeves and soon to arrive Hinderer

No offense but everyone, even someone like me who has about 11 knives, is a collector to some degree...and i hope that we're all users, otherwise whats the point of having a knife?
