Do you collect...or use

I use all of mine, not that I have many, at present time I only have two knives (yes only 2) both get used every day. they get used for every thing from scraping gasgets (the Leathermen), to cutting salami for my samitches (the BRKT Gunny) to what ever else I happen to need cut.

Mostly I use what I buy (its fun!) because I cannot afford expensive metal artwork. That said I go lightly on some and I have a Buck Kalinga Pro Rosewood fixed/folder set on its way that I might actually build a display case for.

I typically buy with the intention of using, but once I get the blade home it may take months before I ever actually put it in my pocket (if ever)

Use, it's the only way to make the knives and you happy, collectors have a bunch of knives packed like sardines all craving something to cut, when they learn to talk we're done for!

I would say I use all my blades. I'm still in the single digits, 7 so far and nothing too special or sentimental so they all get carried. I'm sure one day i'll own a safe queen.

My knives are users, ones that see too much drawer time usually get gifted or sold for something new to try. I also try not to "duplicate" uses (ex. I have a mail/box cutter, a garden knife, camp knife etc.). My edc's are all different depending on my location for the majority of the day and the tasks I might need it for.

Well,
I use the most of my knives. About 60 knives, I own til now. So got a little collection ;) . Mixed up a lot of couples. Fixed Blades, Tactical-knives, Traditionals, SAKs and so on...

Per mood I use a the most of theese. But real heavy-duty-users are just a couple of them. The most them do low-duty-jobs like food and something like this...

Kind regards

I don't really "collect" with any particular rhyme or reason... I just buy the knives that appeal to me. And then I use them. :)

I'm both a user and collector. I like collecting knives, but don't mind using them. But for practical reasons, there's a limited selection of the collections that's in my EDC rotation. Some knives I just don't have use for in daily life, but I just like them.

I consider myself to be user for the most part however I do have a few sentimental knives I have retired as well as a few NIB/discontinued knives(most of these I didn't go out of my way to find I just happened to get them at really low prices I couldn't pass up) I don't want to screw up.

I use mine because I have to. It stresses me out to own things that then just sit. I've got a very small knife collection (~10), and even with that low number there are a few that are being eyed to find a home where they'll be used more.

Both. I have a far larger collection of knives than I could ever practically use, but I do use multiple knives every day, including kitchen cutlery.

+1 I do have a few that I'll never use, simply because I have so many. But the vast majority are users.

I bought every knife to use.

Different occasions call for different knives. Your church knife, camping, fishing, work, EDC, electrical, key chain, car, hunting, etc. you get the picture. And suddenly I realized I have an ever growing collection.:D

Yes I try and use all my knives but some are always going to be my favorites and get more of my attention.:D

I use the knife and then usually put it in retirement for collecting. Though they dont get used that much. But i do have knives that handle the rough stuff. and knives that i try to break

I try to keep my blades nice in general, but I've started using them more as of late. I just don't do anything with them that could lead to edge damage (I don't have the capability to fix that).
