Do You Consider The Canadian Belt Knife Traditional?

Wow - that's a beauty!

It's my favorite of all... and yes, I consider it to be traditional.

Here's the first one John made:

This thread has actually prompted me to decide that for the whole month of April, I'm only going to carry these three fixed blades:

My fear, of course, is that after a month, it's going to be hard for me to deny that I really don't need anything else... :D

Looks traditional to me. Very nice by the way! Add a plastic handle and I wonder if it becomes a modern knife?

I was thinking factory knife in terms of design versus one of your customs. You make very appealing knives.

An example with a drop point design would be the Moran made by Spyderco. Use traditional materials and its a traditional through and through, but add the light weight plastic handle and I'm not sure if it is traditional any more. It is one of the reasons I never recommend the Moran here on the traditional forum. Not sure if it is allowed.

I think the pattern wins out over the handle material, plenty of folding traditionals have plastic on them after all. (personally i prefer wood though :))

I just love the ebony version. A stunner. And yes they are very traditional to me. They have a very special place in my heart as my mom and dad traveled the world with one. Sadly it was stolen around 15 years ago :(
