I really like Vic SAKs. My first SAK, bought in 1977, was a small Wenger with only a pen blade and file which opened from opposite side. I wasn't totally sold then. I eventually bought what I think is a Vic Spartan, a version that's no longer made; it had a very sturdy red plastic handle (different from today's) and lacked the toothpick/tweezers, and gave it to my dad. Years later, when I went off to Taiwan for several years, my dad gave it to me, and that SAK was my only knife and held up great. I realized this knife was better than I had thought it was.
I now own a lot of SAKs (mostly Vic), but am starting to prefer smaller or more simple models for carry. I like a lot of them, but the ones I really like are the Executive, Alox Soldier, and Classic. I like models that there is some use for every implement, if it's going to be pocket-carried. Nowadays, the Vic products I EDC are the Exec in the pocket and the Spirit S on my belt for stronger tool needs. The only thing I would do different with the Spirit would be to have a horizontal carry option on the sheath.
