Do you disassemble and oil your newly purchased knives?

Been finding locktite on too many models lately, too risky trying to disassembly when its fresh from the factory so I let natural use loosen it a bit before that sludgy-but-satisfying cleaning.

Sometimes.

CRK, lanyard removal on two knives, one to re-lube with pivot adjustment.

Replacing factory bearings with Skiff bearings / washers on multiple knives.
I have two WE knives that really benefited from this as there was more gunk than expected, more than what could have been accumulated in the time that I carried them. Once cleaned out action was greatly improved still using factory bearings, even more so changing to Skiff PB washers.

Changing scales on multiple knives as well, any customization will always be a complete tear-down.

It's like checking cylinder heads (or any car part) before you use them.
