Do you display your knives at home?

Good advice on a home alarm BryFry. They can be had very inexpensively and provide real peace of mind.

BryFry- that's a very classy display. Something like that should pass muster with any "Design Committee".

Andysdone- impressive collection, and a beautiful arrangement!

bryfry, how long have you kept your knives in that pictured cabinet? Has the felt left any color on the knives? Any concerns with this type of enclosure?

Had that one a little over a year now and no problems or color transfer. I'm not worried, but it wouldn't be hard to line it with something else if you preffered.

Nope, I don't display anything of value. Except for my EDCs, all guns and knives are locked up in a safe. I've been ripped off before, it's not a good feeling.

I made this stand up out of some scrap Silky Oak and an old school desk frame, usually keep the keys and wallet on top or in it too.

No formal displays per say, but I do place my EDC knife/knives alongside the rest of my pocket fillers for the next day. Everything else is stored away (in different places), in air-tight containers with desiccants. However, designing and building a display case might be a cool little project to undertake. Even so, the case wouldn't be out in the open- it would be my little box of secrets.

No displays, however there are several placed around my house on different dressers and desks and such. I make them un-reachable for the young ones who come over. I am going to soon be placing them all within one area, however.

I don't display my knives. They're in my pocket, in the car and at several places in the house.

Thanks bryfry. I have a coulple of those I purchased for the purpose and didn't know if the felt would retain moisture. I have some drawers lined with this rubber(?) coated mesh and the swiss army knives seem to be transferring the red to it. Anyone have any thought on this? great displays.

Thanks, I am a Judge in a mostly crime free small town...or they would not be out, when I lived in Seattle they lived in a safe. Nice to have them out. Andy

A while back, I stumbled upon this YouTube vid made by a gentleman with an interesting way to display some of his impressive collection...

Thanks for posting my video! I regularly switch some knives in and out of the display. People seem to think it's amusing.
