The only knife I truly EDC is the classic red cellidor scaled Victorinox Rambler on my keychain. My habit is to also carry a slipjoint or small knife loose in my left front pocket and a one-hander clipped to my right front pocket where I also carry my keys, coins, lighter, etc. Sometimes I switch up my pocket knives, but the pair I tend to carry the most (maybe five times a week) includes an alox Vic Pioneer and a Large Seb 21 Insingo.
I've carried a small SAK either on my keys or in the watch pocket of my jeans for the past 25 years or so. A small SAK is, to be perfectly honest, all the pocket knife I need on a daily basis. I love the alox models but until they start including the little plastic pick and tweezers, I'll keep buying my keychain SAKs in cellidor. So handy.
Although my Rambler is perfectly capable of handling most common cutting chores, I rarely use the blade. I prefer a longer cutting edge and bigger handle (for both comfort and control.) The slippie I carry LFP actually does most of my cutting. My one-handers only come out if I'm faced with a prolonged cutting chore or a quick convenient cut if my other hand is already occupied.
I like my Pioneer because it offers tremendous utility in a compact package. I probably use the drivers and awl more than the blade. The silver alox is either very wear-resistant or does a good job camouflaging pocket wear--the result is the same: the knife keeps looking good after years of carry and use. It's also well-built, affordable and easy to maintain.
Why the Insingo? I enjoy owning, carrying and using a quality folder and CRK does it in spades with the Sebenza, imo. Simple, elegant, yet robust design, the Insingo is both classy and capable. Maybe I don't really
need to carry a modern one-hander, but since I do, I feel I could do a whole lot worse. The only person I've ever impressed with my Seb is me...
