Do you edc your CRKs, collect them, or some of both............

Most of us here really like or love our CRKs.

I have several and all but 1, my large regular Website @ 98%, are edc. I have 2.5 (I have a lnib Crosshair scale) user large regulars that are by

far my favorites and get carried the most. I just got a large nib Madagascar Rosewood yesterday that I plan to edc also.

What about you, do carry most of your CRKs or are Most of of your CRKs in the ' my collection ' status.

There are a few members that should be seperate catagory because they have so many..............:D


Maybe I should save a couple as safe queens, but that's not why I buy CRKs.
 
I only have one in the safe and it may go on the block to fund a small regular BG-42 if I can find one. Other than that I EDC my Zaan and large Regular.
 
I currently only have one and it has become my daily carry. I've looked at others trying to decide what I would do with a second one for carry. I will probably pick up a second one down the road but it most likely will be something special that I will put back, at least for a while...
 
I have several, dont even know how many actually as I kinda have two collections. When I was having laid off from work, I shipped them all to a family member so I would not sell any of them due to money problems during my layoff from work. They are still there. Early this year, I started buying again when back to work, so acquired several from the forums and also the " nyefmaker's grail knives " then too. One of these days I will bring the whole family together. But I would still say I have probably 30 or so. There are some that I have not used and carried, but I really don't consider them to be safe queens as I have other CRK's that I do carry on a daily basis. Right now, my edc's are a large regular in god we trust, sebenza 25, large 21 silver dog paws, and my old original zaan.

As for the ones I dont carry, I think I am going to start. I do not plan on selling any of the special ones and I might as well enjoy them as I cannot take them with me. GOD I HOPE I can have at least ONE sebenza on me in heaven.....lol. I cant take them with me like I said and I know NONE of my family will care about them or appreciate them like I do. They would be selling them at a huge yardsale probably.....lol. But there are sebenzas that I would use harder and for more heavy duty tasks than those special ones.
 
EDC!!! I've owned (that I can remember) the following in chronological order:

Sebenza 21 - used (sold/traded)
Micarta Classic Sebenza with partial serrations - used (sold/traded)
Umnumzaan (original pivot)- brand spanking new from CRK (sold/traded)
I think a second Umnumzaan (original pivot) probably used (sold/traded)

Finally my new-to-me Sebenza 21 thanks to lisantica :thumbup: This is my EDC now and I love it. My umnumzaans were great but nothing is like the Sebenza 21 to me. Bushing system, one tool take down, simple, elegant, etc...This is a keeper. I missed having my Sebenza and this is definitely going to be a user (already is). It's my patrol partner right now :D
 
Any chance of getting your family members address? Just a thought. Love reading your posts and learning from you.

I have more fixed blade, principally onepiece, than folder, so mine is mostly a collection...
 
Both, some started as users then were moved to collection status but many were bought just to be admired.
 
I have four that are in my rotation, the other 4 are in the collection and super special to me (birthrates of kids, anniversary, BG-42 Unique Graphic)
 
I consider myself a CRK collector in the sense that I have more of them than I will ever need and plan to buy even more. But I use every one of them without hesitation.
I could see myself buying a rare CRK like a Helix lock or Lock 45 if given the opportunity and that would probably be a safe queen so I wouldn't rule out buying one just as a collector piece.
 
Both here as well. I have a small group for EDC, the rest are in reclusive retirement.
 
I have both.
I have a good rotation of CRK's that make up my edc's that are all large models, I also have a few smalls that even though I don't carry anymore( since I've grown to prefer a larger knife ) I just can't bring myself to sell; they're users that now go unused. I also have a mammoth mnandi that was bought because of its beauty that only leaves the house for special occasions and a unique graphic Ol Glory with Ladder Damascus that I bought to honor my Dad's service in the Marine Corpse and his life as a builder after the war- I will keep that knife forever where I'll contemplate using it as an edc till my dying day and probably won't with so many other good knives to lean on.
 
I have 2 Sebenzas. Large 21 micarta inlay and Small 21 UG.
The small with the pouch is always in my front left jeans pocket and the large is in my maxped neatfreak. They're all users..
For EDC the small is more comfortable in the pocket...but for real use, large feels better....:thumbup:so I always carry both...:D
 
I only have two.....a large Insingo and a 25. I touched up the edge on both with a month of purchase and carry one of these everyday when not in a suit.
