Do you ever hike "off-trail"?

I use roads to get me to trails and trails to get me to the start of my hike. Mac

I think bushwacking is the best way to practice navigation skills.

Hey --Im in north New Milford near the Kent line and have access to some private property that accesses land trust property.250+ acres+ the land trust property. Private as in, lock the gate behind you.Let me know if you,re interested. I usually go with just me and the dog.--KV

I'll start off on a trail but sooner or later I come across some cool looking animal tracks and start following them, before I know it I'm in the middle of nowhere and then it's a case of retracing my tracks back or continuing on for a mystery tour !!!!
