I ask because I have a pile of Spyderco Para 3s that I have bought in the last few months and only the Micarta one "changed" .
I bought it next to last of all of them .
To elaborate I threw my Micarta one in my pocket when I got home . While changing I noticed the pocket clip on that one was a bit eschew compared to the Cobalt Blue G-10 one that I carry and use MUCH MORE that had been in my other pocket all day (other than when I used it). On closer inspection I found I could move the tip of the clip back and forth on the Micarta one because the screws were loose .
I then looked over my other two Cobalt Blue G-10 Para 3s and all had tight clip screws . I mean I was able to tighten them a tad but they were for all intents and purposes tight.
All three screws on the Micarta one were flapin' loose .
So is the surface of Micarta significantly more compressible than G-10 ?
I think I would have noticed if they were like this from the factory .
Definitely an argument for thread goop .
I never have clip screws loosen like this so never put thread goop on them .
?another strike against Micarta as a handle material?
