Do you guys like grip safeties ?

I'm a foul, degenerate beast. Such are the disciples of Gaston. When the battle between good and evil is resolved, only the Tenifer will remain.

Now that I think about it, Cthulhu probably owns a Glock. I'll bet he owns all of them, actually, even the .380. And that's just evil.

 (We need a squiggly Cthulhu emoticon here for the Glock vs. Browning battles, just so JMB's acolytes will know who ultimately wins the war.) Look at the bright side: when Gaston Glo...err, the Elder Gods take control of mankind, everyone's going to lose anyway. In the meantime, buy a Glock; that way, they may just eat you first.

I have seen written in a gun magazine that the best way to carry a 1911 was cocked, chambered and unlocked and it was adaquately safe to rely on the grip safety.

Personly John Moses Browning could be considered a 12-step "higher power";)

Now, my late brother Roy Emory Hargraves never discussed grip safetys with me but he hated 'wheelguns' (shot himself through the leg with his son's .357) and had a very high opinion of the 1911.

BTW he may have been the one to fire the staged intentionally missed shot at General Walker - he never admitted it to me, but never denied it either.

Careful there Dave .
People might start to think you have an opinion on the subject ! L:O:L

"Foul dgenerate beast " ? I doubt if many of your firearms have ever fouled . What else is important .

Degenerate ? Same reasoning .

Beast ? Now who,s perfect ?
Unless you are being perfectly beastly ! L:O:L

Returning a day later to see what has transpired since last we communed; I'm laughing along with the rest of you when I look back over what I wrote. My oldest son Ian (SFC 82nd Airborne, 504th PIR, a Ranger and previously seconded to the 19th SF) has recently transferred to WVa Nat'l Guard and has 22 years in. He was a big fan of Glock, but switched to the 1911 (much worked over)....asked why he switched, "It's the only way we're ever going to have peace in the family!!" Does this mean the kid thinks I'm overbearing??? Number 2 son, a 6"10" 285 lb trucker favors a 6" S&W L frame .357 Mag. The youngest, 28 yr old Machinist shoots a old S&W Model 39 that's about as old as he is... the sucker jams about 1 in 20, and he doesn't even care...just likes the way it feels...no accounting for some people's tastes...must take after his Mother...mutter, mutter...mutter......:D
