Do you guys re-profile your blades?

Well yah I ment to re profile the edge not the whole blade. Its pretty much flat ground anyway so I just need the edge redone. Sorry for not clarifying that.

I used to take the angle down a bit with either my Lansky or Gatco setups but recently I purchased the Harbor Freight belt sander so now all of my knives get convexed. The Lansky and Gatco systems work great on small folders but suck for larger fixed blades. They take too long too. With the belt sander it doesn't matter how big something is I can have it completely reprofiled and ready for the final touch on the hand strop in less than 5 minutes. I've got a leather belt for it for power stropping but I haven't been able to finish the blade on it like I can with a hand strop yet. Being able to sharpen axes and shovels with something finer than a file is nice too.

I got a Rodent Solution and I am not a huge fan of the convex edge deal. I am sending it to be made Full Flat Ground so I can just sharpen it on my Sharpmaker. So is their anyone else out there that re profile their edges?

Where is a good place to send a knife to be re-profiled by someone who knows what they're doing? And is also sensitive to preserving the overall look and finish of the blade? Preferably one with clear-cut pricing printed on a website.

Are you asking about just changing the bevels or having the whole blade re-profiled(as in regrind)?

Just changing the bevels to get a sharper edge that I can then maintain with my limited equipment/knowledge (i.e. Sharpmaker).

I reprofile every new knife I get. From Strider to Benchmade. ZT is the worst. I have never received a even factory grind on a ZT.
