Do you have a new Manix?

Hi OwenM.....

There seems to be a discrepency in the demensions of the Manix. Some say 3 3/4" blade w 4" handle, some say same blade 5 1/16" handle, and one place says 4" blade w/ 5" handle. If you wouldnt mind, would it be possible to post some "real" dimmenions as measured by you. Also, Id love know the distance in between the peaks on the grip. Im concerned as to whether or not it will fit my hand. If you could do that it would be greatly appreciated.

That Manix looks great! I wouldn't mind one, but it is too large for EDC in my case. I would love to see one of these the size of a Calypso jr.
 
Yeah, it's a whopper! The length wasn't a surprise for me, but the width was.

The curvature of the handle at the butt, and front of the scales makes it hard to get a perfectly accurate measurement, so I'll round it off.
handle length: ~5.1" (5.08-5.093")
front of scales to tip: ~3.7" (3.772-3.783")
top of tang to tip: ~4.1" (4.115-4.122")
actual edge: ~3.3" (3.359-3.377")
8 13/16" OAL

About 2.8" from the peak at the hook on the pinky end to the one behind the index finger, then about 1.1" to the center of the guard, and ~.85" from there to the one at the front of the choil.

Thanks, thats great. I appreciate it. It sounds too close to call. I guess I'll have to try to get my hands on one. Maybe I can find one locally to fondle.... Thanks again.

Thanks OwenM, you rock! You also have good taste in knives ;).

Protruding, pointy tang corners on closed folder are a pet peeve of mine, but the Manix just earned a few more points in my book :).
 
If all goes to plan, only 48 hours till one will drop in my mailbox! :D
 
The mailman just dropped mine off. Wow!!!! The lockup is great. No bladeplay at all. Feels very comfortable in the hand. My initial response is very good. I'll write a more detailed review once I've had some more time with it.
