I own so many spydies i feel like i'm neglecting them if i dont carry them once in a while. They keep making new models and i keep having to buy them and they all need attention! what am i gonna do? I think i need more pockets! how do you handle this addiction?

Definitely have the same problem.

I regularly carry 7 of them clipped to, or loose in, my pants pockets, but there's often 1 more I gotta' have, so I slip it into a coat pocket. Then there are the ones in my sling pack for emergencies ;)

Hell Yeah!

Welcome to my world.

I'm not gonna cary 6-7 knives.. For my lifestyle, it just doesn't make sense. So (right now) it's D2 Para OR P'Kal OR Phoenix out or Dodo in my sweats in the evening.... Really miss my Lil'T but what'cha gonna do??

Ken

My pattern:

1. Oh wow, that design is awesome.
2. Buy it.
3. This is way too pretty to carry. I will now coddle it like a precious.
4. (1-2 months pass) I really should just carry it. Take it out of my collecting box and starting using it.
5. Wow, I really like this knife.
6. Ohhh, look at the *new* model.
7. Rinse. Repeat.

I just started carrying my Lum and it has a few scratches on it which is killing me... Now I am waiting on the Leafstorm and the new Manix.

I'm thinking of stiching several other pockets onto my pants. Typically I have a D2 para in my right pocket, a Lava in the watch pocket, a SuperHawk (Thanks Tom! :D ) in my left, and a Bug loose in my left.

Course I've started getting kydex sheaths made, so now I can carry my military on my belt without tying up a pocket. Probably going to do that for my para and hawk.

I have trouble deciding some days. I like my Police 3, BG42 tip up Military, Pikal, Tasman Salt, Cricket, ATR, tip up Para, Yojimbo, UKPK and ZDP189 caly Jr. very much. To complicate things I have full sized Manix in the mail.

Usual selection is Tasman Salt IWB with one of the larger knives RF, with a clipless Cricket in my change pocket. Some days I'd like having both the police and Military on me in addition to the others because I'm feeling indecisive, but I never need that many knives.

I have 39 and carry and use just one.:o
The rest are all still brand new.

Why? Looking at your collection in your signature, I can say you're really missing out. I'd be happy to put that Ti ATR to some use ;)

I've purchased several knives over the years, most of them being folding knives. While searching for another smaller folding knife to use as an EDC knife I came across the Spyderco knives, which I thought looked a bit weird at first. However all the reviews of the company and its products were nothing but good, so I did a little research and bought a Delica 4 a few weeks ago. I was very impressed. So impressed actually that since then I have bought 3 more spyderco knives. I gave the Delica 4 to my dad and I just received a Centofante 3, and it's great. I now have on the way a foliage green Rookie and a foliage green paramilitary D2.

Did I need to get the Rookie or the Paramilitary? Hell no, but I wanted them lol. Couldn't help it, I am hooked on these knives!

I can't think of a better way to half it's value almost instantly.

You could cut it in half..... :D

No really. If you collect, but don't use, that's fine. Lot's of people do that, and it's really enjoyable. I used to collect stamps, but heck I'd never actually use one. :)

I collect (and use) all my Spyderco's. I love laying them all out and playing with them before choosing one or two (or more!) for the daily carry. I think the Chinook is itching to ride in my pocket.

I don't know why but the urge to cut something with every knife I own just doesn't possess me the way it seems to many others.
I can look at them hold them and admire them and I know they will cut (that's good enough) and when I need to use a knife I pick up one that has been used before, not one of my mint ones.

thanks guys for all of the input. i have to users my atr pe which is by far my smoothest spydie i wish they still made them! and thanks to Vivi my mini manix the second smoothest of my spydies. As for the rest i get em out, give em some air and carry around the house or in town, and put em back up til next time.I just cant make myself cut anything with them. I love knives.... but why do yall need 6-7 on your person every day? Good gravy. (I EDC 3 knives and im starting to think that might be too much).

I also feel like I'm neglecting my spydies when I dont cary them. I switched to my BM710 for this week, and I just really miss my spydies.

I miss my Spyderco's if I carry any other knife. The in hand feel just cannot be replaced.
