Greetings all ! The way I figure it, all my knife needs fit into three categories:
1: Finesse or light work {i.e. cutting packages, envelopes, small repairs, cutting notches for snares}
2: general Utility work {i.e. food prep~, cleaning fish, dressing game, camp or home chores}
3: weaponry / Defense {i.e. - as if this needs any explanation- piercing, slashing, snap or draw cuts, + relative fear factor produced in potential aggressors in deployment}
And as if we needed more acronyms, I call these categories my FUD: {Finesse/Utility/Defense, as above}
I look at all my knives with these categories in mind.
My best combo of EDC Ive found to be:
1: M4 Sebertool: most useful of the compact tool kits Ive come across; pocket or keychain.
2: Cuda Talon(-ite) by Simonich {7 ¾ OAL; 3 ¾ blade length} in pocket, or: belt or neck-carry.
3: F.C. Road Warrior, OR: C.S. Peacemaker 1; in slash pocket (no pun intended) of coat.
If I need to chop wood, I use an axe{!}; Everything else can usually be done with these...
But I have not found the magic one knife does all things well. Please Advise if find...
