Do you just aquire knives?

I accumulate knives. I don't intend to, but I do. I do collect, but this is different. It's not about the ones I've ordered, or commissioned, or specifically gone looking for. It's about all the other blades that just "follow me home". I found a decent SAK in the glovebox the other day. I remember buying it; I was traveling and needed a corkscrew, but forgot I had it. I found over a dozen other forgotten blades in the office last month when I packed up to move; two of which were identical. I picked up a GEC the other day in Arizona, a Case down in L.A., and a Boker and a Camilus in Oregon. I've got knives from people who don't want them, from folks who think I might want them, and some just seem to appear. I find knives that I haven't seen for a couple years, but they're still around.

Do you guys have this same problem?

Well, I already have more knives than I can use. But 'tis human nature to want more. Sometimes I yield, because I can delay gratification for so long.

Eisman,,,you are not alone.I too get given knives all the time,or come across them in strange places. No complaints,i love it!!.....FES

I can easily accumulate knives very quickly I have too many right now!

I've made my fair share of impulse buys, so I've accumulated some. I'm learning how to be more discriminating in my knife buying. I think ..:)

I'm trying to be more selective in my buying. Quality, quality, quality, over quantify. I've found a couple multiples though.

I have a few too many impulse buys from awhile ago. I've been concentrating more on GEC, Case and Queen/S&M lately.

I haven't had luck with just randomly finding knives, but I do buy every single knife I see if it's within my spending range. And now since I've been buying everything, I have knives that I didn't even know I had

There was a brief period when I was just acquiring knives, buying everything I *thought* I wanted. Now I have a strict rule that I MUST use every knife I buy, so my buying has become fewer and farther between focusing on the knives that really strike my fancy.

Seeing as my collection has no aim or motiff it's pretty safe to say it's a mixed bag. While I do have certain taste and preferences regarding traditonals (love Jack knives and Muskrats) overall if I see a knife I like and it's a reasonable price I aquire it so it's made up of a wide arrays of patterns and manufactorers.

I don't want to collect or acquire or accumulate. I like to have maybe 2 that I rotate for EDC and then one that is a little bit more of a rare find that is unique to own. However, I tend to find myself with 4, 5, or 6 for my EDC that I then end up selling to get back down to 2! Looks like I'm going to have to post up a sales thread soon since I find myself at this point yet again....oh well

I've concluded that the radio program playing in my head commanding me to buy cutlery cannot be interfered with the many different varieties of aluminum and tin alloys for the tin hats that I've worn to block the radio waves. So I just give in now. I'm not fighting my demons any more. We're all on the same side now. :)

I went through the Spyderco thing for years and now it is BK's and Customs and Engraving my Bucks and a couple of Kris and Persian knives.!*
Yes ~~ I guess I accumulate and then some.*

My wife, yesterday, "There is LITERALLY a knife everywhere you go in this house." She's right.
