Do you like Stag handles on a traditional knife?

Stag is great! And tough to fit. The handles on this one lose texture near the bolsters, but are still attractive IMO. It's hard to find pieces that will fit a 5 1/4" knife!!

This stag flares a bit thicker at the butt, offering a confident grip.

"Aged honey amber stag bone handles" ??

Is this stag or bone? I love it anyway.

Stag that fat is usually not something I'm into aesthetically (not knocking your choice! just my own preference) but I have to say that probably gives a good solid grip, especially that barlow.

I love nice stag - but it's best to have the knife in your hand or have good photos of BOTH sides. To ofter one side looks nice and the other is disappointing.

A couple of my favorites

I agree it's good to see both sides. My GEC 73 in burnt stag has very very mismatched scales. But I knew this when I bought it, pictures of both sides were posted on the retailers site so I knew they were mismatched which doesn't necessarily bother me if they both look good. I like the look of the scales, both sides, even though they were so different. So different and yet somehow they go together nice when the knife is in hand. Love this knife. However, as you said, if you couldn't see both sides you could end up very disappointed. I love my 72, but I've also seen mismatched stag that I didn't like that much.

I like it on some knives, it has a nice grip and lots of character since two pieces are never the exact same. It also is tough, which is a plus for me since I am clumsy! When I get a stag knife, I make sure I am getting the knife in the picture because sometimes it just doesn't look good.

I think that old Sheffield stag is hard to bit. This Lockwood Brothers is great example to that stag, among other things. Great knife.
